Ellie the Birthday Girl!

Please tell me that you’re old enough to remember Cabbage Patch Dolls!  Even if you’re not, lie to me to so that I don’t feel so old.  Well I just showed my age because I used to be obsessed with them!  I loved looking at their birth certificates and taking care of them like they were my actual offspring.  Little Ellie here reminds me of this cute, dimpled, blue eyed baby girls I used to own.  Time has flown by because it feels like I just photographed this sweet girl when she was 6 months old.  When mom contacted me to tell me that it was close to her first birthday, I was literally shocked. In honor of her first trip around the sun, mommy wanted to celebrate by getting her portraits.  And you can’t have your first birthday without a cake smash at the end of your picture session!  Well, technically you can…but why would you?!  We met at the one and only Philippe Park and found some cute spots for Ellie to smile, laugh, and clap her hands.  She was applauding herself since it was her birthday.  Then we pulled out her cake and watched her experience her very first taste of dessert.  Sometimes this can really turn off babies, believe it or not.  Some babies LOVE it, some HATE it!  I think it’s a texture thing.. Anywho – that was NOT the case here. Ellie dug right in and kept going for more!  I was able to capture her sweet face covered in icing.  She even wanted to share with mommy and daddy.  Now how is that for being generous?!
