In todays adventures of a Clearwater Beach Family Photographer, I battled with Mother Nature!  In fact, it seems that I’ve been in a battle with her during almost every single session this summer.  It truly has been a rainy, windy summer which makes it difficult to predict when to cancel or proceed with a photo session.

Today, I met up with the W Family at a favorite hotel for families vacationing here – The Tradewinds.  I drove from Tampa through pouring rain to get there with the promise of clear skies in St Pete Beach.  When I arrived, the view over the horizon was beautiful, while the view directly behind us looked truly ominous, while thunder rumbled in the distance.  We knew it was only a matter of time before the skies opened up and rained on our parade.  Most of our time together was spent under an overcast sky, but the photography gods decided to come through at just the right moment and show us its golden sunset through an opening in the clouds.

And just like that, we were able to finished our photo session together and we were able to capture so many sweet moments!

W Family – thank you so much for taking the risk and trusting this crazy Florida girl when she says “Nah….We’ll be fine!”  ( I’m so glad because the second I got into my car, thunder and lightning started and it poured the whole way home. )
