What’s better than celebrating your first birthday?  Celebrating it with some cake by the ocean of course!  Am I the only person singing that song in my head now?  Anyway, I have been photographing this sweet family for a few years now.  I love being able to capture these special milestones for families that I’ve built long-lasting relationships with.  It’s seriously so gratifying to see the kiddos grow up!  In this case, I was just meeting Hayden for the first time. Can you guess why it took a year for me to meet him?  Because of dreaded COVID messing everything up for all of us.  Insert angry emoji here.  <—-  But what a special day to finally meet him!

We met at Honeymoon Island at my special spot and got right to it!  After photographing some family portraits, it was time for cake!  Hayden wasn’t so sure about it at first, but don’t worry.  Big sister was right there and ready to show him how it’s done.  Check out that adorable image of her feeding him some icing!  He got just a tad messy from all of that delicious icing, so we decided to give him a rinse in the warm ocean water. These images ended up being some of my most favorite.  He loved when the water would come and wash up all around him. And I of course loved capturing that smile of his!
