Our weather has been weird lately.  One day it’s warm and I’m wearing a tank top, shorts and flip flops.   Then, the next day it’s bone chilling and I’m wearing three layers, a  parka, and my one pair of Ugg boots.  It’s like Mother Nature gave Florida a challenge.  Can you display all four seasons in a week?!  Florida says “Challenge accepted!”

This particular evening was somewhere in between.  I think you can tell by their warm, cuddly wardrobe.  Thank you mom for dressing for the weather and keeping these kiddos warm and happy.  There have been times in the past when a mom picks an outfit with warm weather in mind and stays dedicated to it, no matter what.  Well guess what?!  Kids get cold and therefore unhappy (Me too kids.  I HATE being cold!).  This makes my job a bit more challenging.  So if you take away anything from this blog post- ALWAYS dress appropriately for the weather when kids are being photographed!

You know what else was cold that evening?  The birds!  They like to huddle together on the shore to keep warm.  This is like kryptonite for kiddos.  They love to chase them around when they are such easy access.  Honestly, I felt like I was in that Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds. Meaning, I was actually terrified.  Hopefully I didn’t show it too much! LOL

Anywho… one hobby that this family truly loves is – you guessed it- fishing!  I absolutely love when families want to incorporate special elements into their sessions that are unique to their family story.  If your kids are soccer players, bring a ball along! Are they budding rock stars?  Bring a guitar to your session!  Are they a gymnast or a dancer?  I will definitely take pictures of their favorite tricks!  Anything to help you freeze this special time in your life to help you remember what their favorite things are at this age.  Unfortunately the fish weren’t biting on this night (I think they were too cold!), but I was still able to catch some special moments between dad and his son.

Thank you B Family for braving the weird Florida winter at the beach.  But mostly for braving those evil seagulls.  (Insert devil emoji here –>  )  See you next time!
