Tampa Photo Locations

Most Commonly Used Photo Locations in the Tampa Area

So you’ve booked a session, but now have been given the daunting task to choose where in this beautiful city of ours to shoot it? Well have no fear. This will help you decide! I always ask this question to my clients first “Beach or park?” Typically they’ll know right away if they want beach and then we can decide from there which beach will work best. If you don’t want a beach session, there are plenty of other options in Tampa Bay. Without further adieu, here are some of my favorite Tampa photo locations.

Beaches

If you’re traveling here and staying at the beach, chances are that I will be driving to your hotel/beach house/condo and shooting right out back. If you’re local then my go-to beaches are Honeymoon Island or Sand Key Park. Why you ask? Well they both offer plenty of parking and tend to be less crowded than other popular beaches. They’re just as pretty and the sunsets always impress. Honeymoon Island (top 2 images) is located in Dunedin and Sand Key Park ( bottom 2) is located in Clearwater Beach.

Cypress Point Park

Centrally located in Tampa (near the International Mall). This is a great option if you want a beachy vibe without driving all the way to the actual beach! I love it because it offers long grass that turns pink in the Fall as well as a beach area.

UT

Also centrally located in downtown Tampa. UT ( The University of Tampa) is a very popular photo location. It offers beautiful brick buildings as well as Plant Park right out front.

Ybor City

If you’re looking for a more urban vibe that is iconic Tampa, then you might love Ybor City! It offers a variety of really unique walls and backdrops that make for an edgier photo session.

Philippe Park

This is my go-to park. It’s located in Safety Harbor and is extremely popular for its tall oak trees. If you’re lucky, you may even get a glimpse of the elusive eagles and eaglets that liven in the oak trees in the parking lot! It’s dog-friendly, too.
